Having worked within the wayfinding and signage design industry for a number of years, I was particularly interested in these pieces by Brisbane based artist Al James. Using reclaimed street signs Al produces text based artwork, adding his own poetic licence and splash of humour.

As the signs of life website states “Rather than directing traffic flow, these reclaimed signs have found a new purpose, twisting mundane phrases into expressions of optimism. Alan’s best known piece “Stop! In the Name of Love” is hanging in homes and businesses in more than 50 cities around the globe.”
